5.0 out of 5 stars Better than the rest that I've owned!, August 3, 2008
This review is from: Fellowes Powershred PS-67Cs 8 sheet Confetti Cut Shredder (Electronics)
Over the years I have purchased several "off the shelf" cheap shredders, and I have been dissapointed every time. Every time my shredder dies, I go to my local Walmart, Kmart, Target, etc... and buy whatever they have for cheap. Those shredders just don't do the job. When my last shredder died, I decided to spend some more $$ and get a better one. With this purchase, I am very happy!
When I received the box in the mail, I could immediatly tell it was better and more substantial by the weight of it. This is a solidly built shredder! It does not feel like a light little toy like so many other previous shredders I have owned.
I like the small strips it produces, (although I thought they would be a little smaller), and I am happy with the security that it provides me. I shred EVERYTHING that has any form of my name, address, or personal info on it. Nothing just goes in the trash for someone to snoop through and possibly violate me.
The "SafeSense sensor" bar is a nice touch. If you get too close and touch anywhere around the opening, the shredding immediately stops until you remove your finger. I like this safety feature with little ones in the house.
The best feature I can tell you about is how QUIET this is!!! Let me say it again in case you didn't hear me over your old, loud shredder... This one is QUIET!! We shred mail while carrying on a conversation or watching TV and hardly know that the shredder is on. Previous shredders I've owned sounded like a jet engine chewing up the paper.
I've owned this shredder for a few weeks now, and have not found anything I do not like. I believe you would be very happy with this purchase

3.0 out of 5 stars Quick and quiet but lacks consisteny, July 4, 2007
This review is from: Fellows Powershred PS-67Cs 8 sheet Confetti Cut Shredder (Electronics)
The shredder is very qick and quiet, but the cuts are not reliable in terms of length, and they also tend to clog up on the cutters. Therefore, fairly frequent cleanouts are required to maintain the equipment in spite of regular use of shredder libricant, minimal insertion of pages for shredding, and short usage periods with long rests between for cool-downs. I also remove all staples before shredding.

4.0 out of 5 stars Set free by Fellowes!, May 16, 2008
This review is from: Fellowes Powershred PS-67Cs 8 sheet Confetti Cut Shredder (Electronics)
I'm not in a hurry to clear out years of accumulated confidential "what if" stuff, so I'm fine with the speed and sheet quantity of this quiet unit. The shredder head sits on a basket, so emptying the basket - more frequently than I might prefer - requires the head to be set aside, using a convenient handle, while the basket is dumped, generally scattering shredded material more than I'd prefer. A removable basket in a stand-alone base would be better? The instructions indicate that sheet address labels should not be fed through the unit, which was a concern, since I had a quantity with confidential membership data that needed to be destroyed; but, alternating the sheet labels with regular paper allowed me to avoid any jamming - which would not have been surprising, given that the crosscutting of the labels exposed a great deal of sticky label adhesive. The labels are gone and I'm expecting a long and satisfying expereince with the unit. Should have gotten one sooner - and held onto a lot less "what if" stuff. Set free by Fellowes!
2.0 out of 5 stars Not impressed, March 22, 2009
This review is from: Fellowes Powershred PS-67Cs 8 sheet Confetti Cut Shredder (Electronics)
I did so much research on shredders prior to chosing this one. Well, so much for that idea. I ended up returning it the VERY SAME DAY I received it. This shredder jammed so many times that I decided no matter what.... I was not keeping it. I never even put more than 8 sheets of paper into it. So disappointed, that I went through all this hassle for this item, and repacking and shipping it back was no fun. I ended up spending more money and ordered the Fellowes Intellishred PS-79ci shredder and I am soooooooo glad I did it. NOT ONE TIME has it jammed. It is also more pleasing to the eye, easier to empty the trash can and I love that it has wheels. I would recommend anyone to look into the upgrade proir to ordering this particular shredder (unless you have extra time in the day to deal with constant paper jams). I comment Amazon for such fast shipping. On both items, it only took 3 days for free shipping.

This is a great shredder. It's fast & quiet & will easily shred at least 10 sheets. I would definately recommend this model to any one looking for a cross shredder.

4.0 out of 5 stars Confetti Cut? Not Quite, November 13, 2008
This review is from: Fellowes Powershred PS-67Cs 8 sheet Confetti Cut Shredder (Electronics)
Got this today and while it does do its job as far as shredding, not jamming too often and holding a good amount in the container I don't know why they say its confetti cut when its more like strips. I was led to believe that it cut up the pieces smaller (into actual confetti or crosscut small pieces) then what they are. The cut is about 1 inch in length which to me isnt as secure as a true "confetti cut" would be. So for those of you who are expecting this to make actual confetti, it wont. If you want a sturdy shredder that shreds and doesn't jam up, then try this one out. So it still gets 4 stars for its performance (so far) but no star for its cutting technique.

5.0 out of 5 stars Shredding Away, September 17, 2008
This review is from: Fellowes Powershred PS-67Cs 8 sheet Confetti Cut Paper Shredder (Electronics)
This shredder has a large container, which is good for me since I shred just about everything. It is relatively quiet, just a loud humming when in operation. Overall, this is a strong and powerful machine that I am very happy with.

2.0 out of 5 stars Pain to use, April 15, 2009
This review is from: Fellowes Powershred PS-67Cs 8 sheet Confetti Cut Shredder (Electronics)
This item requires a lot of "jostling" of the shredder head in order to align the shredder to the sensor in the basket or else it will not work. It is very frustrating, to put it mildly. Once you get it in the right position it shreds well, but if you move it even a little bit while it is shredding, it loses the contact and stops. I don't recommend it at all -- there are much better shredders out there to buy.

2.0 out of 5 stars NOT A Confetti Shredder, April 28, 2010
This review is from: Fellows Powershred PS-67Cs 8 sheet Confetti Cut Shredder (Electronics)
I looked at some shredders at Office Depot, and went through 15-20 reviews on Amazon, and a few more on other sites. By the time I got to this one, I wasn't paying enough attention. I saw the high ratings and the words "confetti" shredder.

So, it's my fault for not paying enough attention to the specs. But it's also Fellowes' fault for claiming that the output can be called confetti. Two inch strips are not confetti. The shredder seems to be ok as a strip shredder, from the small usage I've given it. As some others have noticed, that shredder head is heavy, and you need to take it off the capture bin to empty the bin.

Time to find out how to return this to Amazon.

4.0 out of 5 stars Quieter than Expected, December 21, 2008
This review is from: Fellowes Powershred PS-67Cs 8 sheet Confetti Cut Shredder (Electronics)
It is performing as presented. However, the noise level is much lower than our previous shredders. We've only had it for a few months, but certainly we have no disappointments so far.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great Shredder, October 28, 2008
This review is from: Fellowes Powershred PS-67Cs 8 sheet Confetti Cut Shredder (Electronics)
This shredder works great, I've only had it a few weeks, but it is chomping away like a champ at a large box of papers that I needed to shred. You only can put 8 sheets at a time, which is the only real drawback, but it shreds great. Very happy with the purchase.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great shredder!, October 24, 2008
This review is from: Fellowes Powershred PS-67Cs 8 sheet Confetti Cut Shredder (Electronics)
I do a lot of shredding! Personal mail and documents, documents for my business...I put shredders thru the paces. In fact, over the last year I've gone through 2 shredders...I wore them out. I decided to go with a Fellowes because of the other reviews that I read, I wanted to make sure I purchased one that would last. So far I'm impressed. It does what it says it's suppose to do! I love the confetti shredding on this one, previous one's I've had simply shredded my documents in long shreds. This one seems to have the power I need to get the job done. I love the saftey feature that will stop the shredder if my hand or fingers are by the opening! It's a bit larger than I thought it would be but still a very adequate size for my home office. I'm hoping this one will be with me for several years!
